We are delighted to have as our invited international speaker, Professor Richard Baron from the University of Chicago Medical Center. Prof Baron is a very experienced and highly regarded radiologist with a passion for research and teaching.
Professor and Chair Emeritus of Radiology at the University of Chicago, Dr. Baron has also served the U. of Chicago as Dean for Clinical Practice. Prior to his service in Chicago he had served as Chair of the Department of Radiology at the University of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Baron is currently President of the RSNA, and a past president of the Society of Gastrointestinal Radiology and the Society of Computed Body Tomography and Magnetic Resonance. He has published and lectured extensively focusing on hepatobiliary imaging, and his research and educational exhibits have received numerous awards worldwide.
International radiology organizations have bestowed upon him honorary memberships (Argentina; Chile; Spain; Italy, France, Japan and Ireland) and honorary fellowship (ESGAR). He has received the Gold Medal from the Asian-Oceanian Society of Radiology (2014), the Medal of Honor from the Societie Francaise de Radiologie and the Haughton Medal from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Faculty of Radiologists.
